Auto World Vintage Car Museum is a wonderful collection of vintage cars, motorcycles and carts manufactured by well known automobile companies. The museum focuses on stimulating the interest and knowledge of motor enthusiasts to learn about vintage and classic cars. An impressive collection of vintage cars, antique and utility vehicles, motorcycles and horse carriages is worth a visit.
A museum developed by Shri Pranlal Bhogilal Patel presents a striking presentation of the rare vehicles. Visitors can find a wonderful assemblage of vehicles including Bentley, Lagonda, Rolls Royce, Cadillac, Austin, Jaguar, Mercedes and Auburns.
A vintage car aficionado, Bhogilal was also associated with the ASSOCHAM, Indian Merchants’ Chamber, All India Starch Manufacturers Association, Western India Automobile Association and Indian Textiles Association and Machinery Manufacturers. Pranlal Bhogilal Patel’s collection has found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for his incredible collection of vintage vehicles.
Museum
Tourists would be amazed with the priceless collection of the valuable cars ranging from the 1906 Minerva to 1954 Ford. Car enthusiasts would be delighted viewing the diverse range of the four wheeled vehicles. More than a hundred cars are displayed built by well known coach builders including Hopper, Barker, Gurney-Nutting, Fleetwood and Lebaron.
Well maintained by Vintage and Classic Car Club of India, the museum is now managed by Director Mr Nitin Dossa. People who appreciate speed and style would be astounded to see the antiques. One of the arresting displays is the 1923 Rolls 20 HP with a typical shooting brake body by Barker among the best collection of Rolls Royce.
People can also watch for the Lancia Cars that are notable for their load bearing unitary body and includes Lancia Lambda and Lancia Lambda 1926 and 1931 Lancia Dilambda. Another interesting exhibit is the 1927 Phantom I with a boat tail roadster body. Bhogilal had given different names to the diverse cars he had in his collection. He named his 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I as Azad that had a Barker body painted in tricolor.
Museum features royal cars belonging to famous rulers of the country. Included in the displays are the vintage cars of the renowned brands namely, Maybach, Packards, Cadillacs, Mercedes, and Lincolns. This informative museum showcases cars of the time period when holding a car portrayed as a status symbol.
Tourists would love to gaze at the exhibits set in the different sections built within the verdant gardens. Museum holds Horse drawn carriages, Boat tailed Wooden Speedsters and Shooting Brake-Cars especially made for the affluent. Other vehicles christened by him were Chamunda, Chetak, Pushpak, Caesar and Cleopatra. The image of Rana Sahib of Porbandar can be found just behind his car - the 1940 Lagonda.
This impressive museum contains the best collections of Rolls Royce that includes 1936 Phantom III, 1937 Phantom III, 1949 Rolls-Royce, 1923 Silver Ghost and 1927 Phantom I with a limousine body by Windovers. People can see the Bedford mobile chest clinic with its different interiors. It also accommodates different types of carts.
The 1923 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost with its Victoria State Landau body that has gas lamps on its side is one of the noteworthy highlights of the museum. This treasure trove includes a 1927 Hispano Suiza H6C with coachwork by HJ Muller and cabinets mounted on the running boards for holding shotguns and rifles. A museum filled with treasures appreciated by every visitor where another highlight is the 1937 Maybach SW38.

Another attention grabbing car is the odd colour combination Chrysler Imperial Airflow that had been one of the most prominent cars of the 1930’s. Other cars includes 1906 Mors, 1911 Daimler, 1914 Minerva, 1906 Minerva and 1910 Ford Model T, 1931 Auburn V12, 1926 Lagonda 2 litre, 1936 Lagonda V12, 1934 Bentley 3.5 Litre, 1935 Auburn 851 and 1952 Bentley Mark VI.
Visitors can also see few of the cars made by one of the renowned American automobile manufacturers, Buick that includes 1931 Buick Tourer, 1947 Buick Eight Super and 1935 Buick Eight. Museum also exhibits sports cars like 1931 MG Magna, 1937 AC, 1937 Riley Sprite Sports and 1946 Sunbeam Talbot.
Museum also houses Hotchkiss Cars made by the French company Hotchkiss. It also has a cafeteria and a station for fun drives in vintage cars.

Vintage Car Museum is located at 2,200 acres Dastan Farm House on the Sardar Patel Ring Road at Kathwada. Ahmedabad can be reached by road, rail and air. Sardar Vallabhai International airport has several flights connecting the city with other cities of India and countries of the world.
The main railway station is the Kalupur Railway station that has several trains connecting Ahmedabad with other cities of the country. Entry Time and Fees of Auto World Vintage Car Museum
The Vintage Car Museum is open for visitors from 8 am in the morning. The closing time of the museum is 9 pm in the evening. The museum is open all days of the week.
Visiting charges for the museum is Rs. 50 per person. An interesting feature of the museum is that the visitors can travel a fixed distance of 3.5 km by paying fees of Rs. 500. Visitors will have to pay extra if they want to take their cameras inside the museum.
